R.T. Williams New Geneva, PA 2 Gallon Crock Item No. 23-018-50
The large (2 7/8”) hand drawn number 2 at the bottom of this 19th century Stoneware Storage Crock identifies the capacity it holds. The Advertisement on the front is for, “R. T. Williams, New Geneva, Pa.” R.T. WILLIAMS was one of the earliest of the old-line Western Pennsylvania salt glazed stoneware makers, the forerunner of Williams & Reppert, fully as renowned as James Hamilton and Hamilton & Jones. Aside for a small old chip to the rim and a stain to the bottom, it is in perfect condition with no repairs. This measures 12 ¾” tall and 7 ½” in diameter. |
