1/2 Gallon Wax Sealer

This is a knotts. swindler & co Palatine, WVa wax sealer fruit jar that stands 8” tall and has a nice gray clay! The jar has three outside upper rim surface chips no bigger than 1/2" long and one inner rim chip. No other damage. No hairlines or cracks. This is a very clean looking jar! It is difficult to find a wax sealer of this size and condition, but is made most rare by the cobalt blue stenciling signifying Palatine, WVa, which no longer exists. So, where was Palatine, WVa? It was located along the river in what is now considered the east side of Fairmont, wv. This is a great piece of WV pottery history.
