T.F. Reppert
Greensboro, PA
1 Gallon Wax Sealer
Item No. 23-005-50

Here is a nice 10" wax sealer from T. F. Reppert, Greensboro, PA that measures 6" wide at the mouth (outer rim). Dating about 1885, this beauty has the light clay background from early in Reppert's career when he used the cleaner wood rather than coal to fire his kilns. The stencil is bold and in rich cobalt. It features the unusual feather/fern image. There is a hairline crack about 3" long on the front which does go through to the inside. There is also a rather large chip under the rim about 2" total length. The lettering is stenciled, and some of the color has come off, but does not take away from the beauty of this 19th century piece.
